Products of QuantumCTek Helped ICBC Apply Quantum Cryptography to Secure the Transmission of Off-site Data Over 1000-Kilometer

In recent days, the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) has successfully realized the quantum encrypted transmission of Beijing-Shanghai Internet Banking remote data by applying the quantum communication technology. This was the first time that the world’s banking sector applied quantum communication technology, which was also a milestone in the practical use of China’s quantum communication. The practical quantum security communication products which was independently developed by QuantumCTek and applied in Beijing-Shanghai quantum cryptography communication line supported this innovative application in the finance sector.

It was said that in order to strengthen the ability to guarantee security and improve risk management, ICBC attended the Beijing-Shanghai quantum cryptography communication line program led by the University of Science and Technology in response to the call of the CBRC. As early as the primary stage of the program in 2015, products of QuantumCTek passed the user authentication and were put into use in ICBC, supporting the encrypted transmission of the electronic archive information of the ICBC Beijing and Shanghai branch within the same city. Two years later, ICBC applied its quantum communication technology into off-site wide area network (WAN) within the framework of “Three Centers in Two Cities” on the product platform of QuantumCTek, and achieved the quantum encrypted transmission of Internet Banking remote data.
